What we believe

We believe the whole Scripture of the Old and New Testament was written through the inspiration of God. These texts are holy, complete, and entirely without error in the original manuscripts (2Tim 3:16, Jn 10:35,2Pt 1:20-21). The Bible is our final authority in life, doctrine, and godliness (Mt4:4,2Pt 1:3-4). The Bible is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule for all-saving knowledge, faith and practice.

2.    GOD

We believe in one (Deut 6:2, Isa 45:5-6), eternal (1Tim 1:17), sovereign God (Dan 4:34-35). He knows all things (Psa 139:1-4), and providentially oversees all things (Mt10:29-31). He is merciful (Exod 34:6), gracious, and just (Acts 17:31), loving (1Jn 4:8), holy (Rev 4:8), almighty (Ps147:5) and good in purpose (Rom 8:28). His glory is our chief concern (Ps 19:1, 1Cor10: 31).

We believe in one God who exists in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Mt 28:19,Mt 3:16,17) All three are uncreated, coeternal, equal in power, glory and honor. They have the most beautiful, perfect fellowship through the Holy Trinity. (Rev 22:13,Acts 5:3-4).

We believe God created the heavens and earth out of nothing in six creation days through his word, spirit and action (Ge1:1-26, Heb 11:3). Man and Woman were the crown of God’s good creation, being created in his own image (Ge 1:26-27). We were created to worship God and reflect him in true knowledge, righteousness, and holiness (Eph 4:22-24, Col 3:9-10).

5.    FALL

We believe that Adam and Eve, who are our first ancestors, rebelled against God and voluntarily sinned. This caused sin to come into the world and all their offspring were under sin (Gen 3:1-19,Rom 5:12-21,3:9-18). Radical depravity came into whole human beings. We are spiritually dead and hopeless until God makes us alive in Christ (Jn 6:44, Rom 3:10-18, Eph 2:1-6).

We believe Jesus is the Christ and the Messiah as the Old Testament prophesied. We believe he is also the Son of the Living God (Mt 16:16). He is fully man and fully God (1Tim 2:5, Titus 2:13). He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect life, taught the way of God’s kingdom, worked miracles, suffered, died and (bodily) rose again and fulfilled the salvation (1Cor 15:1-8).

We believe Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and horribly died on the Cross for our sin and death. His death fully met the requirement of the penalty of sin so that we might be counted righteous and forgiven of our sins through his atonement (Isa 53:5, 2Cor 5:21,Rom 3:21-25, 8:1-4). He defeated the devil (Rev12:9). He removed our guilt and became a curse for us (Gal 3:13). He was cursed in our place as substitute (1Pt 3:18).

We believed that we are justified before God through faith alone in Christ alone, by grace alone (Gal 2:16). The only way to be adopted into God’s family is through union with Christ (Eph 1:3-6).

We believe the Holy Spirit works through the Words of God and supernaturally converts (regenerates) the hearts of God’s people by making alive what was spiritually dead (Titus 3:5, 1Pt 1:23). The Holy Spirit convicts our sin (jn 16:8-11), leads us to repentance (Eze 36:26-27), causes us to grow in holiness (2 Cor 3:18),  seals us for the day of redemption that we might be assured of our salvation (Eph 1:13-14), and equips us with spiritual gifts for the building up the body of Christ, which is His Church (1Cor 12:7).

10.           CHURCH

We believe the church is the community of God’s people drawn from every tribe, language, people, and nation (Eph 2:11-12, Rev 5:9-10). The Church is the invisible body with Christ Jesus as its head and His Church exists locally and imperfectly as the visible church. Jesus Christ has given his church two sacraments; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Mt28:19-20, 1Cor 11:23-26).

11.            MISSION

We believe God’s people should grow Christ-like (Eph 5:1-2), prayerful (Rom 12:12), joyfully obedient (Jn 14:15), full of the love of God and love of neighbor (Mt 22:37-44). We believe the mission of church is to make disciples by proclaiming the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God.  (Mt 28:19-20). We should share the gospel to save the lost, to share love with others, (1Pt 4:11), to work for righteousness and justice and to care for the wounded and needy as salt and light (Mt 5:13-16, 1Jn 3:16-18).

12.            LAST DAY

We believe Jesus Christ will come back to earth visibly and bodily as the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords and the final judge. (Acts 1:11). The dead shall be raised and the living and the dead will be judged on this day (1Cor 15:2-28). The wicked and unbelievers will be condemned to eternal punishment (Rev 20:10,Rev 14:15). Those belonging to Jesus will have eternal life in the new heavens and the earth and live forever in the kingdom of heaven with joy of the glory of God. (Mt 25:21,Rev 21:1-5).
